I love my chalks. You'll notice that quite alot of the demonstration cards I've made which are dotted around the shop (or are still to come!) are made using chalks. I started off with a little 9 boxed set and eventually decided to get a large 24 boxed set. I was a bit hesitant as I wasn't too happy about repeating the same colours but to my pleasure I discovered that each palette has different colours in giving me a wider choice to use. You can use the chalks with your VersaMark pad and a cotton wool ball. Print your image then dab your cotton wool ball into your chosen colour and then lightly place on to your image and dab gently. Once you've done that rub gently all over your VersaMarked image. My favourite way is to use a 'Staz-on' permanent ink pad with a rubber stamp and print an outlined image. Instead of using felt tips or crayons to colour it in with, take a cotton wool bud for each colour your going to use and colour in your picture by dabbing your cotton wool bud into the chalk and using like a pencil crayon. This allows you to put the chalk directly where you want it and blend the colours together. If you go over the edge or get chalk anywhere it isn't wanted then use your chalk rubber. After you've finished using your chalks spray the pictures lightly with hairspray to make sure the chalks hold and you don't smudge your artwork. Put your chalked image to one side and leave to dry, it won't take too long! These are just the way which I use my chalks but if you know of another way then please let me know as I'd be really interested to hear about it!! These chalks are Acid Free and Non Toxic too! *Please Note* Chalks are very fragile and can be easily broken in transit and whilst being used but this does not affect their use and is not a fault.
